Interesting style compared to today. I have noticed the networks using more younger sounding voices, even on news programs. The voiceover of ABC's 20/20 sounds like a high school kid. Yeah, I'm an old fart, but I like the news to have someone who at least sounds mature enough to be believable on the subjects they're announcing. I am pleased to hear more diversity though. NBC is using a number of fantastic African-American voiceover talents. The new NBC show "Smash" is a good example.

You're just getting older Woody and the announcers are sounding younger. Remember, Peter Jennings was just 27 when he first anchored at ABC. Although, I do remember when I first applied for a Portland radio job at 19, I was turned down because I sounded too young.
