Let's not forget that he also was Maude's husband on a much brainier sitcom.

No. He played Dr Arthur Harmon on Maude.
His wife Vivian Harmon was played by Rue McClanahan.

Maude's husband Walter was played by Bill Macy.

May Conrad and Rue rest in peace.

You're right Briggs but that doesn't take from the fact that "Maude" was true comedy while "Different Strokes" was televised garbage.

And let's not forget to memorialize Bea Arthur. Bill Macy lives on, as does the other member of the main cast Adrienne Barbeau.
