There isn't anyone minding the store. Schools and government "spend money like they stole it", with the general philosophy that they can always get more.

Nothing will change until the tax-paying public finally becomes engaged and expresses sufficient outage to get their attention.

Tough to do AFTER an election, though..........

Also tough to do when anyone who challenges the unions becomes enemy number 1. If you remember Mr. Dudley called for a audit of all public expenses in the state. No one in office wants these done because this is just the tip of the iceberg..

The school districts want you to "forget" that they get funding from the taxpayers, the feds AND the lottery.

Speaking of needless TM spending...

I'm wondering why there is little to no
news coverage of the multi millions Tri-Met is
spending on a new state-of-the-art
digital communications system.

Currently they use the city of Portland's shared system.
It is adequate. But they want their own system
with all the new bells and whistles.

It's being built right now,
but the news media has been mum.

Denny, the reason you are hearing nothing from the media is really pretty simple. The media knows it's a scam and they know that the people would be outraged if they knew what was going on. Since the media is in the bag for the liberals who run Tri-Meth, the media keeps quiet about the scams.

It's kind of a one hand washing the other type of thing. Tri-Meth panders to the media and the media makes sure that nothing negative about Tri-Meth gets much public discourse or discussion. Tri-Meth wants the communications system so it's collective pee-pee can get hard, so the media plays along.

The media is covering it.
Maybe you are checking out the wrong media?

Ask Mary Fetsch, Tri-Met's Propaganda Minister
and Chief in charge of Denial and White-Washing.

Her official title is "Communications Manager" and
Tri-Met pays her around $107,000/yr. to cover their ass.
