I believe this place has been converted to a 'business center' of small offices and meeting rooms, and the pool covered or filled in.

From the looks of Google Maps there is nothing there.

If it the place on about 48th and Sandy, it was converted into housing for people suffering from HIV, whether or not if that what it remains?

Phil: it is located 1/2 a block west of 39th on Sandy. as the photo indicates it was a motel with a heated pool. dont know exactly when but the pool was filled in and covered up and it continued as a NO TELL MOTEL, catering to the street ladies and pimps that cruised the area. (no JO, John or Walter I was not a customer, I used to live on 39th north of Sandy)It became such a problem location for the trade, they had to shut it down and was converted into a business center, dont know how successful a venture that was.

U.G. just for fun when you have time, Google maps and street view 4800 N.E. Sandy, there was a Flickr picture of the Motel with that as the address. The overhang still is attatched to the building. I don't mind being wrong........well kind of :)

Phil, you are right. I was mistaking 4800 for 3800 which is still there with a similar overhang. fortunately I take Sandy home. I will take another look at it. thanks for the correction.

Thank you, I dip behind the other in the morning to head out I-84. Years ago I used to pick up the alcohol next door for Yaw's lounge, under 21, but with my bald head I never got carded! Lucky me LOL

Phil: went by that location, one good size apartment bldg on the corner of 48th & sandy the address is 4810. its called the Rosewood apartments and was built by Central City Concern note the phone # AT 2-2281 on the flikr.com photo. had to have been in the 70's or before. John Goss was a brief aquaintance of mine back in the 80's his family owned goss brothers dairy near 38th and he told me that he owned the building that had the milk bottle. He also told me that he had just purchased the abandoned shriners childrens hospital on 82nd and Sandy and was going to convert it to apartments. I knew he owned a lot of properties in the Hollywood area, but didnt know what they were except for the ones he told me about. Anyway as far as the townhouse motel it is no more.

The Townhouse Motel and the building currently at 4810 Sandy sure look like the same plan, but remodeled.

I have a info e-mail into Central City Concerns the Managers to see if they have any of the history. I stood in the same spot and the photo I took of it this morning has way too many things that match the old photo. Hope I live long enough for a answer!

Once upon a time it was a respectable
family motel for tourists on US Hwy 30.

Central City has replied that they are not sure of the name many years ago, but was aware of the pool being buried under the garden that is there now!
