I bought a top end DSLR a couple of years ago because I was tired of the almost in focus crap that I got from my smartphone and iPad. There's so much more you can do with a real camera that you have to wonder why people are satisfied with the camera in their phone. Even bottom of the line DSLRs for a couple hundred bucks will give you way better photos.

I bought my DSLR, and associated equipment, at the Washington Square Shutterbug, which closed a few months ago. The last time I was in the store it was a ghost town with a couple of clerks just sitting there twiddling their thumbs.

Sad.. cameras were, and are, so much better than phones. Ive always preferred actual photography to these wannabe upstarts..
