I googled Oriental Theatre Portland nd found a link to more photos from Library of Congress taken in 1969. http://www.loc.gov/pictures/item/or0029.photos.130800p/resource/

actuall I think the url is
https://loc.gov/pictures/search/?q=Photograph:%20or0029&fi=number&op=PHRASE&va=exact&co%20=hh&st=gallery&sg%20=%20true

Such marvellously beautiful, ornate surroundings...sad that people cant appreciate this style of things..

Another short sighted Portland tragedy. I so loved that place. I tap danced there during the Rose Festival when I was in the 6th grade. That's when the "Fun Center" was still at Holiday Park across from Lloyd Center. All the animal heads had glowing red eyes. A mystical place.

i went to many movies there. joined navy in 1959 and never did live in portland again. south pacific, hawaii, southern oregon and calif. portland for me was great place to grow up. was not afraid to go anywhere even at night. was told not to go to williams ave., or gypsy town. i did tho.
