Beautifully photographed in a French provincial town, the viewer is immediately engrossed in the plot and intricacies that befall the characters. This film will cater to those who hunger for a really enjoyable film and whose appetite demands a tale of competition, respect and mutual understanding. Good taste demands that this film receive 5 stars with the old adage “See it, you’ll like it”.

A tavern owner in Portland, Oregon gets involved in a struggle for power between two gangs attempting to control the unions. When his young daughter is attacked by one of the gangsters, he joins the faction fighting against the syndicate and gets important evidence via a tape recorder. He is discovered and he and his daughter are threatened but honest union men, come to his aid. Film was released in 1957.
