The Heart Attack Grill in Las Vegas lived up to its name after a customer nearly died after going into cardiac arrest while eating an ironically named Triple Bypass burger. The so-far unidentified man was reportedly dining on the 3-patty burger with cheese entry when he suffered a heart attack. Luckily, the man is expected to survive and will not become a Darwin Award winner.

I’m at 47 burgers now – do I really need to keep going? Actually, I might as well make it an even 50. With meatless-for-me Lent beginning on Feb. 22, I need to bring this to a close and begin the Lenten best veggie burger search. Please let me hear from you if:

1. There’s a burger out there worth the calories that I absolutely have to have
2. There’s a burger location (building, atmosphere or structure) that’s really unique and worth experiencing (that also has a great burger)
3. You’d like to be a judge and participate in the “DJC Sweet 16 Peoples’ Choice Play-off”

A WHOPPER BY SPECIAL DELIVERY

Just what we need, Burger King Whoppers getting delivered to your doorstep. The number 2 burger chain, has quietly begun testing home delivery of their burgers. The last visit I made to a Burger King, the delivered product was cold and beyond horrible. Now they will hand over the goods from a new thermal technology that ensures the Whopper to be hot and fresh. If they can't pull this off in their stores, how in the world will they get it done by driving the goods to your door? They should start by cleaning their restaurants, take a look at the floor when you visit next time.

Standing room only at The Crab Broiler. They had the most amazing business until a divorce and that broke it in pieces. 

NOAH'S BUYS KETTELMAN'S

Kettleman, which culled a reputation as a scrappy small business that found success after its owners experienced tough times, operates five Portland-area stores. The locations will be rebranded as Einstein or Noah’s stores.

Closing their doors forever at the end of the year. Over a half century of customers. Another landmark to vanish. 

YAW'S TOP NOTCH RESTAURANT

We can't get enough of the old pictures featuring Yaw's. Hope it returns soon as the REAL Yaw's Top Notch.

LONDON GRILL CLOSING AT THE BENSON

One of the most magnificent dining rooms in Portland is closing at the end of the year. The service is always 5 stars, but this old haunt got lost in the mist of the trendy new places that have opened. Sad for the staff, customers and visitors staying at the hotel. 

YAW'S WAS SUCH A LANDMARK....AND COULD RETURN AGAIN!

This time it will be a real Yaw's. Let's hope that Steve Yaw can make this happen. If the Yaw family has control it will be a slam dunk.
