Weren't the Tonkins a set of three brothers-two who sold cars and one who became a very respected lawyer here in Portland who went by the old family name of Tonkon?
Knew Marv's son Alan and called him a friend. He died in a skiing accident on the Columbia one summer day. But we did have some fun being kids downtown and around. Alan was an excellent wrestler.

The slogan "Get a Honkin from Tonkin" was Marv's for years in the 70's. Why do you think this is a hate blog?
