Did You Predict This Mr Stump?

Thats a familiar looking picture,.....:)

I would guess by your last name sir, that you just might be associated with that building on the corner! I am 63 years old, so this goes back a few years! My folks took my brother and I to Weiner's every year for our school clothes and shoes
"Walt" always waited on us and after the shopping was all done he would always go over to the Coke machine and get my brother and I a Coke. We would drink up while mom and dad talked to Walt. My two cousins would also get their school clothes from Walt. After we were done with our cokes we would go back down the circular stairway and out the big glass double doors! We never took the elevator! I don't know why?? and those were the good old days.....gone but not forgotten.

Hi Joe,

Indeed, my family ran that store from the early 30's until 1968 when he sold it to Botany 500. I grew up in that business.

I knew Walt very well and he was a class act (I still remember the coke machine behind that bar).

I used to race the freight elevator un and donw like crazy,....(back in the days when they were ALL manually operated).

Those sure were the good old days that I'll never forget. :)
