Economic Downturn Shutters Kiggins Theatre
The curtains will close inside the Kiggins Theatre in downtown Vancouver for the last time Monday.
Last week, workers posted a plea for support on the marquee but were unable to raise the $4,000 needed to remain open.Monday is the last day to see a flick at the theater, according to its website. A farewell celebration and $1 movies are planned.The theater opened in 1936 and showed films after their initial release at a reduced cost.
