I was always disappointed when the TV repaiman couldn't fix our set without taking to the shop. That was a great day when it was returned, up and running!

Do you remember pulling all the small tubes and taking them to Fred Meyers to use the tube-tester? The machine would show you which ones were bad and then you would fish a new one out of the cabinet underneath the tester, buy it, take it home and stick it in your set. Sometimes it worked.

I sure do Robert. Thanks for the recollection!

Please note the Loud Speakers stored on top of the bins. Remember when those were mounted on cars and pickups and used as advertising tools? That was before radio commercials became popular. My date guess is 1954.

1957-60.
