Don't these people know they are in a McJob and probably not even making a "living wage"?!? Suckers. I'm glad the youth of today have a proper sense of entitlement. They may have to do some lousy cutomer service job -- but they sure don't have to act like they like it!

You are very wrong Pom. When Bob farrell owned the chain he cherry picked every crew, many went on to doing great things in business. He taught them as young teenagers and young adults how to treat a customer. It was like a boot camp for future success. I worked at the original off West Burnside. It was one of the finest experiences I ever had.

That's the problem with the written word Bill..it's hard sometimes to recognize sarcasm. Pom hits it right on the head with "the sense of entitlement". My daughters, now 33 & 30, learned very early that if they didn't show respect for other people and their property, they'd be out on their own. And yes, Bob Farrell was and is an excellent motivator and teacher of people skills.

When I was in the Army in Colorado my ex and I went to a Farrell's down there. It was, of course, owned by Marriott by then. It sucked!

Even the local Farrell's degenerated into suck holes after Bob Ferrell sold them.

At 1:14 I hope that kid washed up after that.

Did I see Al Fleenor there?

Uh...that's not whipped cream.

one of the best places ever in it's day...never felt guilty there committing the deadly sin of being a glutton.

Read "Give Them the Pickle", about Bob Farrell. You will learn a lot.

SUPER reading for the above by Bob Farrell...a MUST for all folks who 'serve' the people!!

Back in the seventies the Lloyd Center Farrell's was a great place. We celebrated family birthdays and dined there just for fun sometimes. Exceptional service and food. Ice cream pig troughs and green river sodas, mmmm. Their old fashioned candy store made our eyes bug out in anticipation. Giant lollipops. Can't put a price on family shared memories like these!
