GLEN CAMPBELL...THE FINAL TOUR AND ALBUM

 

Glen just released his final album titled "Ghost on the Canvas" which is getting rave reviews. Glen has informed world know he is in the first stage of Alzheimer's disease, but is excited going on the road one last time with his grown kids  playing in the band. Glen is not just known for his hit records and shows, he played lead on over 100 big hit records for other artists and toured for a while with the Beach Boys. Here is a short list of Glen's contribution playing guitar in the studio.

A FIRST CLASS MAN HAS DIED

John Zupan, founder of Zupan's Markets, has died. He was struck by a suspected drunken driver Monday night. John loved his family, markets and the community. A very sad loss. The family says well-wishers can make donations to the Emanuel Medical Center Foundation in lieu of flowers.

JOHN ZUPAN IN CRITICAL CONDITION

PORTLAND -- A man was taken into custody after police said he hit a motorcyclist in Northeast Portland Monday night and then fled the scene.

Investigators said Edy Reynoso-Ramirez, 32, was driving erratically and speeding eastbound along NE Marine Drive when he crossed the center line and crashed head-on into an oncoming motorcycle near the 138th Avenue intersection. (Ramirez pictured in police mug shot at right.)

The driver fled on foot but police said they found him a short time later and arrested him around 8 p.m.

The injured motorcyclist, later identified as John Zupan, 66, of Vancouver, was taken to Legacy Emanuel Hospital with critical injuries. He is the founder of Portland's Zupan's Markets.

NE Marine Drive was closed between 138th and 148th Avenues as police investigated. They said both vehicles left the roadway after the crash, and Ramirez' Honda Civic ended up at the bottom of a steep embankment. The motorcycle was a 2009 BMW.

David Preston Thompson (1834–1901) was an American businessman and politician in the Pacific Northwest. He was governor of the Idaho Territory from 1875 to 1876. A native of Ohio, he immigrated to the Oregon Territory in 1853. In Oregon, Thompson would become a wealthy business man, and served in the Oregon Legislative Assembly both before and after his time in Idaho, with election to both chambers of the legislature.

During the American Civil War he joined the United States Army, but remained in Oregon and did not see any action. In his later years, the father of three would serve as the mayor of Portland, Oregon, and as United States minister to the Ottoman Empire. A Republican, he was a presidential elector for the party, and in 1890 their candidate for Governor of Oregon. The Thompson Elk statue and fountain in the middle of Main Street in Portland was donated by him to the city, and a city park in Northeast Portland is named in his honor.
