I'm at a loss for words.....

This is beyond tragic.

Originally called the Oak Room it was transformed into "The London Grill" opening on December 21, 1955.

I'm worried for the hotel above for every one of your reasons about the basement. I've stayed at every hotel on Broadway over the years and the Benson is becoming frayed. No refresh in 10-15 years? Geez.
Maybe after Westin left that was the beginning of indifference?

Great shame looked like a lovely place to stay.
