I could never understand what was supposedly so great about this place. The burgers were at best medium quality. No way did a Carnival burger measure up to Stanich's or Skyline.

JOEL, I HAD MANY CARNIVAL BURGERS AND LOVED THEM ALL, HAD A FEW
STANICH'S AND THOUGHT THEY WERE OK AND HAVE NEVER HAD A SKYLINE
I HAVE RECENTLY DISCOVERED THREE MORE BURGERS THAT I CONSIDER
TO BE VERY GOOD ALSO. HERE LISTED IN THE ORDER OF MY LIKING:
1. GEORGE'S GIANT HAMBURGERS 11640 SW PACIFIC HWY IN TIGARD
2. KILLER BURGER AT 47th AND SANDY
3. FIVE GUYS RECENTLY OPENED IN THE GRESHAM FRED MEYER COMPLEX
GIVE THEM A TRY, IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY AND LET ME KNOW!

I had good burgers at the Carnival many years ago. It was similar to a Fuddruckers setup.
I have tried both George's Giant Burgers on Pacific Hwy and the Giant Burgers on Boones Ferry in Lake Oswego and don't find anything really special about either of them.
I have had Five Guys in Beaverton, West Linn, and Gresham and they are all the same and OK but I think overpriced. Plus a small footprint that goes tall which is hard to eat. I usually go for the single and add stuff from the list.
Stanich's are good if you go for the special. Now that they started charging for the extra toppings, I don't go there anymore. They obviously have not read Farrel's book "Give Them the Pickle". Farrel knew how to appeal to the customer and keep them as regulars.

Brothers in east Vancouver's much better than 5 Guys. Give 'em a try next time you're out that way - on 192nd & 1st Avenue, next to the new Costco.

We will have a pop quiz today," that same sick feeling I had way back when swept over me.
