It was very expensive for the day with small portions and snooty service, but it was all about the view of Portland. When my parents returned home from an evening at Canlis, my dad would give me a wink and say "Clip Joint" ....My mom liked the view.

This was place where I took my first high school prom date, it was 1969. Great memories. Total bill was about $25, a very expensive evening considering minimum wage was probably a dollar an hour then! She was in a yellow gown and looked beautiful.
My Grandparents frequented Canlis (Seattle) and also lived in there condos. Beautiful view they had. I remember I was 13 and I would dance for them both. They are deceased now. There names were Capt. Ed & Mary Kimbrell. Maybe the Canlis's will remember my Grandparents.
Thanks Mr Stump for posting the menu! I remember the gigantic baked potato. It was Huge! They brought out a small carousel with the "fixin's". It was like a small Nerf football. No artificial bacon bits in this restaurant.
