Does any one remember one of the best car commercials ever from back in the 60's "Under the Rooftops of Chevrolet" showed a cute little girl picking daisey's under a Chevy bel air or impala roof. Still cant get that song out of my head.

Recall, if you will, that back in the day TV shows had sponsors. Chevrolet sponsored Bonanza. Hence Tonkin got Lorne Green, who starred in Bonanza, to appear at the grand opening.

The only TV spot I remember with a little girl picking a daisy was the spot for Barry Goldwater opposing Lyndon Johnson.

I wish I could have met Lorne Green ! I loved his show Little house on the prarie!

John I am beginning to wonder about you. Lorene Green was on Bonanza, Michael Landon (who played his son on Bonanza)was the producer, director, writer, and star of the series Little House on the Prairie.

Suzanne you are wrong! I watch little house on the prairie everyday on tv! Stop making fun of me!

You are correct JOEL, after clearing the clouds I think it was several children playing under a chevy roof, to a catchy tune.

@joelintheburbs-- I'm assuming you know this and just got the wording wrong - but the Daisy girl ad was made by LBJ's camp against Goldwater. The D's were using children in hyperbolic attacks against conservatives even back them. Barry has a long pedigree.

Right you are Porn Mom. Guess I had a bit of a brain fart...since the spot was part of LBJ's plan to make Goldwater into a nuclear maniac.
