He also had number one hits in five decades starting with "White Lightnin'" in 1959 as well as a tumultuous marriage to Tammy Wynette.

Something I didn't know: "White Lightnin'" was written by J.P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson. Learned that from Wikipedia.

Been with George since the beginning. Spun his records as a DJ in the 60's and 70's, attended many of his concerts and shows in the 80's and 90's. He stands tall in my book of Country Legends
