I remember many moons ago, when I was working at KTIX in Pendleton, we carried the Blazers and Shonely came to town to promote the team. I interviewed him on air and asked a totally stupid question. Shonely handled it with kid gloves, not embarrassing me at all.
Since then I have considered him the ultimate gentleman.
Heartbroken when The Blazers made the change to whats his name? If I was on a game show and the prize was a milliion, I couldn't tell you his replacements name. Schonz was the best.
Schons was in the store the other day picking up a new pair of slax. Since his 85th was approaching, he told me how he got his name: when he was about 10 years old, he asked his mom, who replied "son, bills are do the first of the month, so we're naming you Bill!"

Wow, 85. He still looks dapper as ever. Happy birthday Bill.

A living legend. Nothing more needs to be said there.
