At the Flame there was a duo, who's name escapes me, that sang Neil Diamond song soooo Gooood. Any one remember their name?

I remember the calico cat! only singles dancing on the stage ifin ya know what I mean!

Ah, to be 21 again. Back then, The Calico Cat wasn't a New Year's Eve type of place. It was one of Portland's major nudie bars.

The dancers wore see-through panties and Band-Aids on their breasts to give the illusion of total nudity while complying with the city's law that required female performers not to show their genitals or nipples.

My dad, Mike Healy, owned all 3 places in the late 50's and all through the 60's. This would have been his ad.

All 3 places are long gone now but I remember them well. I especially remember when he introduced Go-Go Dancing in the early 60's at the Calico Cat. Pasties, G-strings and the works!
