We went to Kupie cone all the time. We pronounced it "Q-P" cone, but the owner had hoped it would be called "cuppy" cone. Best soft ice cream ever.

I think everyone pronounced it "Q-P." Used to go there when I dated DB from Cleveland High. The Speck at Powell and Foster, The Freyer Tuck on Woodstock and Kupie Cone were our hangouts.

I remember that place! They did name the commercial building that replaced it "Kupie Corner," which was a little wink at the history (though many of us in the neighborhood wished they'd reuse the sign, too.)

Where is this sign now? It looks like it's in a warehouse someplace.
