Cory died unexpectedly in his New York home. He was 74. Three Dog Night was the biggest selling band of the 70's and they hold the record for the most bodies in The Portland Memorial Coliseum for their show. It was the final festival seating show due to the risk of crowd problems.

My very first concert. 1969-1970? Portland Memorial Coliseum. Three Dog Night, Osibisa & The band from the next block over, NE 23rd St's finest, HiGH-VOLTAGE. I've met & seen James Brown, I've been backstage at The Rose Bowl with Pink Floyd, I've stood at the feet of Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck & Eric Clapton while they all played Stairway to Heaven (A.R.M.S. Tour, Cow Palace, S.F.,Ca.) and STiLL, this Three Dog Night show is one of the FiNEST I have ever seen. GOD BLESS CORY WELLS! **May he rest in peace**
