I swear you are determined to make me think I'm getting old. All of these people -- i.e. Goldie -- aging and now reminiscences of the Astoria-Megler Ferry. I remember when this bridge first opened. What a marvel it seemed to be.

I have lived in Portland since Feb.,'61, and been through Astoria many, many times, i dont think I will ever cross that bridge. Galloping Gertie jr was enough!!

I remember reading an article in the mid 70's about when they would drop the toll, my father said they never would! I am glad he was wrong! love crossing that bridge!
