Yes, the volunteer firemen hosed us down as we stood outside the many bars and taverns that took good care of the tourists. Then the good folks on charge of the city called Fort Riley to stand on the roof tops and guard the city. All because of a moveable life guard station. It was in the mid 40s and windy that day as I was there. Those were the days.
