Fuji got his start with Don Owen's Portland Wrestling in 1966. Vince McMahon made him a national star with the WWF in 1972. Fuji retired in 1985 and became a colorful manager outside the ring hitting the opponents with his famous cane. After leaving the sport, Fuji retired in Knoxville Tennessee. Fuji operated Dojo training centers and was a part-time usher in a movie theater.
His real name was Harry Fujiwara born in Honolulu.
