I just was watching him in some youtube clips last night of a concert he did on saturday. That explains his poor performance. Really sad to see him this way
So sad! David Cassidy played at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills on Saturday night, CA, just a few miles from my home. I had seen ads for the show and wanted to go but it did not work out. Now I am glad I did not see the concert!
His mom had dementia, so he has inherited it. The alcoholism was inherited from his father, the late, and quite talented, Jack Cassidy. Sad, David was never a great actor, or musician, but he was decent, acting. Minus Partridge Family..
In the seventies, I wanted to be David Cassidy. I thought he had a great voice. That plus the shag haircut and the pooka shells made him the coolest. Unfortunately, most rock, country and pop stars don't know when it's time to get off the stage and make a graceful, dignified exit. They usually don't know how to do anything else, and end up in a lot of debt and their handlers want to make sure every last buck gets squeezed out.

You have to wonder if there is any connection between his dementia and his previously admitted alcoholism.
