No shortage of history in this building located around the Fairfax neighborhood in L.A. The historic property could bring $750 million. Commercial realtors are leaking info that CBS might sell the studios of Jack Benny, All in the Family, Sonny & Cher and hundreds more.

I was nearby in early September - The Grove and the Fairfax Farmers Market. Lots of residential has sprouted in the past few years around the shopping areas.
I could see those acres becoming a mixed-use retail-residential complex. If they could also raze the big-box center between CBS and the Farmers Market, it could be a nice, seamless 'downtown.'
Sorry to see CBS Television City go away. But they can find cheaper space for studios -- and build 'em state of the art. Retrofitting the technology into old facilities can be more expensive than any amount of history or convenience.
Saw a taping here of the Jerry Reed summer replacement show for the Smothers Brothers back in 1972. It was memorable for a pre-tsped segment featuring John Twomey who called himself a "manualist". You can look up "manualist" and "Stars and Stripes forever" on YouTube to get one of his appearances on Johnny Carson's show for a demonstration... Television City was really cool to see...
