"Kitzhaber" and "cash" from a headline that old?

My girlfriend at the time (Okay I was ten, but an advanced ten) came from a very pro-union family, so of course, they subscribed to the Reporter.I would see the paper when I was at her house. Even for a ten-year-old, I could tell low-quality when I saw it. It's no wonder that the "newspaper" lasted just over four years.

The immediate post-strike combined Oregonian/Journal wasn't anything to write home about either. The typos were fun though.

And does anyone remember before the papers returned to Sunday publishing when they'd read and show the Sunday comics on TV?

Come to think of it, wasn't it KPTV's Charlie LaFranchise who did the honors? I think I was in 2nd grade at the time...

We had a subscription to the Journal, and Reporter. Dad was rsilroad union, three others of us were Fred Meyer union, various times, we are prounion.
