What this doesn't say is that Nixon despised Kennedy, yet he was able to remain civil in his communication. He didn't call JFK Little John or Lyin' John. He didn't threaten to punch out opponents who attended his events. But most of all, he didn't lie just for the thrill of knowing that he was fabricating the things he said.
This shows that, no matter his personal feelings, Nixon did have class. As did JFK, for the initial contact. Sad that most of the politicos nowadays seem to have any, there are some, like those who honoured the late Sen. John McLain, RIP.
