That was a very infamous day in Portland radio history.. saddened many a listener.. all for the FCC...when did KISN FM start? First song, and dj? Shouldve been Dirty Dave...KISN ROCKS ON!!!

sad indeed.

The FCC was after KISN's license for years. There were multiple charges against the station (and other Star Stations) for violations of political advertising laws, double billing, and other various broadcast laws.

Burden kept the licenses for years after the FCC filed charges with legal maneuvering. But, in the end, KISN was a mere shadow of its former self and a lot of broadcasters were glad to see it go.

My heart and soul. My teenage years.Picking strawberrys, raspberry s and beans, "In The Summer Time", (loved that song), laying by the Monta villa Public pool, KISN says, "Don't be burning, you better start turning",or something close to that. Winning records my dialing KISN'S number and holding that last digit on the dial and letting go to be the 3rd caller!

Dang! You mean other people knew about that trick of dialing the first six digits and holding the last number. No wonder "Name and Claim It" was so tough to win.

I always was under the impression the last song played on KISN was the ironically titled "Some Day We'll Be Together." Is that incorrect, Mr. Stump? Additionally, I thought the song was ended in mid-stream. Clarify for me please.
