I wonder if that's the Warlocks from Seattle or the Warlocks from San Francisco. Both bands played Portland. The San Francisco Warlocks became the Grateful Dead.

Mr. Lucky on either of the shows doesn't fit. Mr. Lucky was a standard five-piece Northwest combo -- lead, bass, drums, organ, and tenor -- and played party style, Kingsmen rock. The other bands fit more in what was called psychedelic. It's also kind of hard to think of Mr. Lucky playing the Crystal.

How about Jimi Hendrix opening for The Monkees?

Joel.....there was a local band "the Warlocks" I believe they came out of Wilson High or in that area of SW Portland. I was going to PCC-Shatuck in `66 and one of the guitar players was in one of my classes. Can`t remember his name tho. Hope that helps. They were rockers. Yardbirds, Stones and Kinks et al.

Warlocks went to Tigard High. Great band.
