Actually, well beyond 1946. Nixon had the pool covered to create the press center where up until Trump daily press briefings were held. The press center opened in April 1970. The pool still exists beneath the press room.

The pool was built in 1932 to benefit Franklin D. Roosevelt who suffered from polio. It gave him a place for therapy in DC.

The White House was without a pool from 1970 until avid swimmer Gerald Ford had an outdoor facility built in 1975.

As I recall, Jack Kennedy used the pool for "therapy" as well. But only when Jackie was away.

Immediately catches the eye purity of the hall. Ka is not strange, but you rarely see such a cleaned room in the city.
