The property taxes on this place are $19,074.99/year. I imagine that in 1935 they were less than $200. According to the assessment information on Portland Maps, the average tax bill has gone up by 4% each year. Greater than the rate of inflation.

At this point, what is the owner getting for their $19K a year in taxes: Crumbling city infrastructure, vagrants, trash, graffiti.
