Something tells me there was more to the show than a guy playing the organ. The organist is off to the side of the stage, so I think there was much more to come.

The radio station call letters on the signs may provide a clue. The sign that says KEX seems to have the word broadcast, so maybe the crowd came for a show.

Booker T. Jones? Dave "Baby" Cortez?

The organist that is playing is Cecil Teague who was a well known organist in Portland, and was the staff organist for KOIN for several years, and played at many theaters, roller rinks, and churches. I found a article in the 1/8/38 Oregonian that 1000 music lover assembled at the M&F auditorium to hear a concert on the new Hammond electric organ. Glen Shelly KEX staff organist played for a special radio broadcast from 9:00 to 9:30 pm, but Cecil Teague began the concert at 7:30 pm.

One more reason M&F was COOL!!!!!!!!!!!
