We frequented John's Meat Market for lunch in the 70's. Don Berchtold owned and ran it. He was the son, maybe grandson, of the former mayor of Mt Angel.
It was a great restaurant. The wait staff was great. Food and cocktails were great also. The "steak soup" was delicious. Fond memories. We always enjoyed ourselves at the Meat Market!
