Buddy Ebsen, Edgar Buchanan, Sam Cady, who lived in the area, Nancy Kulp, some great people.. and Miss Irene Ryan, who auditioned for the Graanny role, but was considered too classy, till she took out her teeth, scruffed up, and WAS Granny, and won the role! Great shows. but missing Bea Benaderet, the original from Petticoat JUnction.

Bea Benaderet had died by the time this photo was taken, Jann. Note June Lockhart is in the picture. She was brought in with the hope of replacing Benaderet after her death, at age 62, from lung cancer. You also conflated Frank Cady with Sam Drucker (the role he played.)

Yes, john, Benaderet was a heavy smoker and despite all of her goody-two-shoes roles, she was known to swear like a truck driver. She was a hard fightin' mama.
