Great couple... Gracie always wore longer sleeves, to hide the burns on her arm from an accident as a child, and she also was what is known in the optical business, a dichromat, she had teo different coloured eyes.. brown and green, I believe I remember.. George never remarried, and continued on to be the reigning oldest living comedian. Hope tried, but didnt succeed.
One of the all-time funniest duos. When they joined Burns was supposed to do the comedy with Gracie throwing him the straight lines, but Gracie always got more laughs. So, Burns decided to switch places and let Gracie do the comedy.
Gracie pre-deceased Burns by 32 years. When he died, just days after his 100th birthday, his body was placed in a joint crypt at Forest Lawn with Gracie and the line was added to the marker "Together Again." Quite the love story.
Most wouldnt have allowed their wife to be the one who got the most laughs, as the straight man is almost a back seat position, but George was gracious, smart, and head over heels in love with his Googie..He continued to visit her after her passing, and talked to her at least weekly. They were a beautiful couple.
