never liked their pizza! now waiting for you know who to tell me I am wrong and their pizza was the best ever! because you know he will! in 4. 3. 2. 1....

Well, for us kids growing up out in SE, it was the place to go.
Pizza was good, not up to todays standards of course, but still good.
Old Duck

Used to be a Shakeys on N Lombard and Peninsular, changed hands afew times, now a Green Zebra.. wasnt bad, but I made much better when I managed a store, part of a chain. I prefer Bellagios. Locally sourced, good food. And john, get over yourself.. he said he wasnt going to continue wasting breath on you.

JannM the Green Zebra store at 3011 N Lombard was a Chico's Pizza in the 60's & 70's and then a Pietro's Pizza in the 80's & 90's

Thought for sure there was a Shakeys prior to Chicos....I grew up in NOPO.. my oops. thanks.

Not to worry Jann. Chico's and Pietro's were Shakey's clones and the pizza was just as bad.

In fact, did you ever order in a Chico's pizza? It could take a couple of hours to arrive and it may have been riding around in the back of a Chico's delivery truck for most of those two hours.

Psst (sotto voce), don't tell john that I really hated Shakey's Pizza. I love seeing him all worked up because he thinks I'm going to disagree with him.

I always liked Shakey's. Was a happening couple of blocks with neat cars at The Speck and cute girls at the Pink Bucket. Good old days!!

well its obvious some people would disagree with God!
