Vacuum tubes took up a lot of space.

My first foray into electronics was when I built a radio using transistors. Now the radio I built, which was the size of a large book, can be stuffed into are area about the size of the head of a pin.

Remember that the first computers took up an entire floor in an office building and couldn't do what you now carry around in your pocket.

That is one big machine!We had standard black and white when I was in hs, studying productions, and they werent tiny, but these dwarf ours!
