45 years later and it holds up as strong as ever.

Not a false note to be seen or heard.

Suburb cast (Danny DeVito!), great direction, perfect screenplay, fine novel.

One hell of a place....my son was here a couple of times, hyperactive, spoiled, willful, definitely our child.. and this is one hell of a movie!!

My mom did a stint at this hospital as a student nurse in the late 40's.
She says the fixtures looked much the same in the film.

My high school sociology class visited the state hospital on a field trip. That was in '66 or '67, only a decade before the motion picture came out, but little was changed. It was depressing then and depressing in the film.
