I bet there were a bunch of disappointed kids when they got their Dick Tracy wrist radios and found out they were nothing but AM radios on a wrist band.

It wasn't a radio. They were a couple of wired walkie talkies, yes about 20 ft of 2 wire cable plugged in between them. They didn't work very well, as you could hear the other person without the set even if in another room behind closed doors.
