You know a great book when your nearing the end and pages turn slowly. I don’t like this true story, I love it. Two young guys travel by bicycles from Santa Rosa, California to the Alaska-Yukon Exposition Fair in Seattle. Right now I’m with them in Portland at the famous Erickson’s Saloon on Burnside. Please get this book, written by one of the fellows daughter. A wonderful read for these times. The year was 1909. Portland was a very exciting city. 

Erickson’s had shoe shines, gambling, cigar rooms, barbershop, boot repair and more! 

Two wonderful young men that encountered wild Indians, girls, young towns, rough roads and the open city called Portland.
