Going into 8th grade in September 1959 Mom paid $2.99 for my "Chuck Taylor All Stars" the hi-top style and $4.25 for my Levis button fly at Wieners on 6th Ave next to 6th Ave Records. Walt was our family's salesman for years and we always got a bottle of Coke from their pop machine on the 2nd floor!

I wore 503 Levis all through hs, all my mother would buy for me, and jr/sr yrs, I loved hi top Chuck Taylors, black with white.. they were all cheap in the early 70s, as well.. no cool, styling, fashion for me. never allowed!
