Understandable... Theodore Roosevelt protested naming the toy bear 'Teddy', as it would be forever associated with him, and he abhorred the nickname. He preferred to be called TR, or Roosevelt. Much like Lincoln, who detested Abe. He preferred Lincoln, or possibly Abraham.
