Back in 1959 just before the big opening, Hal Hulbert and Stan Prouty hired a number of young guys from area high schools like Madison and Central. My good buddy Ron ran the big dishwasher, I was the busboy and others had various tasks; but not bartenders or waiters. Prouty was pretty easy going; but Hal ran a really tight ship. Didn't hurt us one damn bit. And the place generally ran very smoothly.
History says 52 years is quite a run in that business; but many area customers were saddened when PR closed about 10 years ago. Apparently the property still sits vacant.
