I’m bingewatching “The Crown” now on Netflix. What a story. George VI (Bertie as he was known) was thrust into the role of king when his older brother Edward VIII abdicated in 1937.

He ruled through WWII and stayed in London during the blitz while his brother was governor of the Bahamas.

This would be his daughter, mother, and widow, who HAD to be titled Queen Mother.Days over, dear, let your daughter reign...
