The building -- bordered by Morrison and Alder, and 9th and 10th -- was the first Portland business to occupy an entire city block when it opened in 1910.

Did it open in 1910 as Olds and King or Olds, Wortman and King??
I've often wondered why Wortman sometimes included and sometimes not. (???)

The store was renamed Olds, Wortman & King in 1901 Two Wortmans had been part owners of the store for about a decade before the name was added. Wortman was dropped and the store again became Olds & King in 1944.

You are forgetting the "Liberty House"!

To continue.....It opened in 1935 as Olds, Wortman and King. Wortman was dropped from the name in 1944.

Everyone wants to forget Liberty House.

Ok, what was Liberty House, aside from a frightmare?
