Since Medicare didn't begin until July of 1965 this picture is even sillier than it would have been in the 50s.

My dad turned 65 in 1967 and after he retired, he was on the golf course four days a week, not confined to a wheelchair. And nurses had abandoned uniforms that looked like that (student nurse, notice the pinstripes) by the time Medicare came around. My wife wore an outfit like that in school, but not after she became licensed as an RN.

I resemble the nurse more than the 80 + squad here, and I am 65.
