Published in the Oregon Journal on January 16, 1975. Adjusting for inflation $2.40 in 1975 would be $12.60 in 2021.

Is the Skyline still in business? Drove by once or twice but have never stopped.

Yes it is and great! Order a burger of choice and don’t miss their shakes ; best in city.

On my list for ages!!

When I was a kid, Mom and Dad would load the family into the Dodge and we'd go to The Speck (the Skyline was the Speck back then) for dinner in the car. You pulled into a spot, turned on the headlights for service, and the carhop would take your order. They'd clip trays with your food onto the car window and you'd eat.

Another Americana thing that's long gone Killed by Mickey Ds and Booger King.

It was a great burger, but not as great as the Double Carl at the Red Coach Inn.

That is... the late, great Red Coach Inn.

Went to Red Coach often, best food, best service, miss the family.

RED COACH WAS CASH ONLY! ( I think )

Oh, how I long for the days when carhops would clip trays to your window... A&W, we had a great place in N. Portland, the Lumberjack, now a Chinese place, another in the area was Harrys Hurry Inn, dine in and takeaway only, but GREAT food! Kids have no idea what fun dining out could be...
